2018 Xmas Radiothon
XMAS IS OUR TIME TO GIVE BACK TO YOU AND SOMEONE NEW
It’s been another jam-packed year here on Eastside Radio with many milestones achieved and still more planned for 2019.
We now broadcast more than 91 programs a week, the highest number of shows on any community radio station around the country! Our love of podcasting continues to grow as many shows select the best interviews from their programs and make them available for download.
We continue to provide opportunities for new volunteers, overseas and local interns and work experience kids to step into the world of media and kick start their career. Occasionally they remember us and share such special messages like:
‘Thank you genuinely for everything! I never would have dreamed to have a job in media and something radio related just by having a show here on Eastside. I also never thought that when I first turned up to volunteer three years ago, just how much it would change the course of my life; what I was passionate about, what I studied, and my future career endeavours.
Thank you for providing me with the space and freedom to learn, express myself, and be creative on the air. I never would have gotten here without your initial belief in me.’
It’s been encouraging to see so many shows recognise as Finalists in the CBAA Awards such as Crossing the Line (Tuesday 3pm) and Mick Paddon’s National Features and Documentary Series Finding Voice. Special congratulations to Another World (Sunday 2pm), which won Best News and Current Affairs Program and to Siobhan Moran-McFarlane for all her hard work and determination. We’re pretty proud that for all our unique music it’s one of our talk shows that won big in 2018!
And so, once again we’re teaming up with Barnardos Australia to make a difference to children in need this Xmas. For every new or renewing supporter of Eastside Radio we’ll give a gift to one of the kids of Barnardos. You support us and we support them. It’s that simple but important.
We’ve still got plenty of tickets to Bluesfest, WOMADelaide, Monkey Baa Theatre, Event Cinemas and gifts from Australian Museum, Audio Technica, Wooly’s Wheels, Cozbar, The Owl House and The Coffee Roaster to name a few for many lucky supporters…
PLUS all supporters will be invited to an exclusive preview screening at The Chauvel on the 16th of January 2019 of Green Book – the true story of world-class African-American pianist Dr. Don Shirley’s concert tour in the Deep South in 1962.
So show your love of Eastside radio by renewing your support this Xmas.
And remember your support of Eastside Radio will ensure we give an additional gift and make a difference this Xmas to the children of Barnardos!
Thanks for listening to and supporting what we know is the best station in Sydney. Have a Merry Xmas and remember to tune in, turn out and sign up!
