iOTA on Groovescooter tonight…

As a  singer, songwriter and performer,  iOTA has been mesmerising music-loving crowds since the late ‘90s with his extraordinary vocals and charismatic delivery.

iOTA, one of Australia’s most enigmatic, talented and original singer/songwriters, always wanted to be a rock star. Then the moment he became one, he freaked out. In hindsight he admits that it was a pivotal moment in a career that e mbraces six ARIA Award nominations, four albums, seven singles. Then another opportunity loomed when musical theatre presented itself and iOTA was cast as the lead in …Hedwig & the Angry Inch. He needn’t have worried as he took to the stage with gusto making a stunning theatrical debut which has earned him a Helpmann Award for Best Male in a Musical as well a Sydney Theatre Award for Best Performance in a Musical and a Green Room Award for Best Performance in a Musical.

Hear him tonight with Georgie and Paris on Groovescooter (Tuesdays 6.30pm) on 89.7FM

iOTA is playing live at the Carolyn Shine fundraiser at The Basement, Sunday 24th July 2011..

Local musician Carolyn Shine is battling cancer, and a large chunk of the Sydney music scene is rallying to support her as she undergoes chemo. This is for a mighty fine cause, so don’t miss it and try to help one of Sydney’s fine musicians, Carolyn Shine. Just go there and help with buying your ticket ($25), enjoy great music and probably win incredible raffle prizes on the night!
