New Orleans Comes To Town
City Recital Hall is excited to present some of the world’s leading jazz artists, direct from the USA. For one night only in Sydney, jazz giant Dee Dee Bridgewater, Irvin Mayfield and theNew Orleans Jazz Orchestra will transform City Recital Hall into the heart of New Orleans with their incredible tunes.
Over the past four decades, Grammy and Tony Award-winning Dee Dee Bridgewater has ascended to the upper echelon of vocalists, putting her unique spin on standards, as well as taking intrepid leaps of faith in re-envisioning jazz classics.
In this new collaboration with the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra and Artistic Director Irvin Mayfield, Dee Dee will explore traditional songs such as Big Chief, Saint James Infirmary, and What a Wonderful World along as well as exciting new compositions Congo Square and C’est Ici Que Je T’aime.
The evening is sure to be a special treat for Sydney audiences that will take you on a journey straight to the bustling, humming, streets of New Orleans.
