Olympian Caroline Anderson on Crossing the Line, Tuesday 23 October
In the third of our shows for Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re chatting to Olympian and psychologist Caroline Anderson.
Caroline came late to Taekwondo; she was already well into high school before joining her first class. But from the off she was hooked and it wasn’t long before she was competing at local, national and world championships, before reaching the Olympics in Athens 2004.
Caroline has now been working as a psychologist for the past 15 years in a variety of settings, including hospitals and private practice. While competing, she felt there was very little support to help athletes manage the internal and external pressures of the high-performance environment. In 2015, she founded Performance Edge Psychology, working with athletes, coaches, schools and businesses to teach mindfulness techniques that increase resilience under pressure and help individuals and teams perform more consistently.
Caroline chats to Lorna from Crossing the Line about her sporting journey, the power of mindfulness in sport, and some tips and tricks that anyone can apply at home!
Listen live at 3pm or catch up anytime online.
