City of Sydney EWaste Collection
Sydneysiders recycled 45 tonnes of electronic waste at our March and June 2018 e-waste collection days, helping keep unwanted household items out of landfill. All the e-waste collected by the City of Sydney is processed locally where around 95% of it is recycled. Components are stripped, then broken down into commodities and circulated back into the market for new products.
Our next e-waste drop-off day will be on Saturday 24 November 2018 from 9am to 3pm.

War is Over! Armistice and the Dream of Peace
When the guns fell silent in 1918, the cry of ‘never again’ rang out across the globe. One hundred years later, we explore the dream of peace articulated and struggled for by Australians, through a highly visual and sensory exhibition of historic images, objects and ideas.
The exhibition is held at the Addison Road Community Centre, on the site of a former military depot where men enlisted for service from 1916, and also the site of anti-conscription protest during the Vietnam War and more than 40 years of community peace-building activity.
War is Over! Armistice and the Dream of Peace is an historic opportunity to explore the meaning of peace and how we might make it come true at a place that is part of the story of the Great War and its legacy.

Presenting the latest cetacean research from the international scientific community, Whales | Tohorā explores the diversity, biology and adaptation of whales to life in our oceans and celebrates their role in South Pacific Islanders’ rich cultural history.

Leslie Oliver: Things from Other Places
These ‘things’ are resolutely abstract.
I want a reaction to arise from rhythms, structures, space and form.
Necessarily, they are engineered constructions that obey rules of matter.
Most of my time by far, goes into the construction process, aiming to fulfil the instinctive gesture that comes to me.
I hope to bring life to ‘stuff’.
I like to think people will notice what keeps ‘the thing’ balanced, upright, while at the same time recognising some of materials from other uses and lost histories, but most importantly feeling some physical empathy with the inferred gestures.
