Elevate that movie magic and treat yourself! Moonlight’s Gold Grass offers the ultimate A-List cinema experience. With reserved bean beds in a premium viewing location and wait service, you won’t even have to get up from your bean bed!

The Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year exhibition showcases the timing, patience, artistry and technique of professional, emerging and junior photographers. They capture spectacular moments in time.

Beyond offering us the opportunity of beholding the beauty of our region’s wildlife and landscapes, the exhibition is a provocation to witness and contemplate today’s environmental challenges.

James Cameron: Challenging the Deep is a major new immersive exhibition. The exhibition traces Cameron’s lifelong pursuit of and achievements in deep ocean science, technology and exploration including his record breaking dives in Deepsea Challenger, the submersible vessel he designed that was built in Sydney.

Visitors will experience how Cameron’s drive and passion for understanding and exploring our oceans has shone a light on the spectacular phenomena and mysteries of the least known place on earth. His work enabled maritime archaeologists to document and understand the shipwrecks of RMS Titanic and the German battleship Bismarck.

The exhibition immerses visitors into an underwater environment using cinema scale projections, artefacts and specimens from his expeditions, underwater recording, lighting, communication and diving technologies pioneered by Cameron. View props and costumes from the feature films The Abyss and Titanic made possible by his drive to understand the challenges of the deep.

The exhibition has been developed by the Australian National Maritime Museum with the Avatar Alliance Foundation and is funded by the museum’s USA Bicentennial Gift Fund.

Badu Gili, meaning water light in Gadigal language, is a free daily experience that celebrates the ancient stories and rich contemporary culture of Australia’s First Nations.

The 7 minute animation appears on the Opera House’s eastern Bennelong sail year-round (twice each night, at sunset and 7pm, or 9pm during daylight saving).

Badu Gili 2018 blends the diverse voices of established artist and community leader Djambawa Marawili AM, vibrant watercolour painter Mervyn Rubuntja, internationally renowned artist and prestigious Telstra NATSIAA awards finalist Mabel Juli, painter, lecturer and traditional healer Patricia Ansell Dodds, ceramicist Penny Evans and emerging printmaker Aiona Tala Gaidan, with an original soundscape by Damian Robinson.

Badu Gili is best viewed from the top of the Opera House’s Monumental Steps.
