Vets Beyond Borders is an Australian charity that works with communities around the globe to improve the lives of animals, and therefore humans as well.
Whilst there are many animal welfare organisations around the world, lots of countries don’t have adequate access to veterinary health facilities and properly trained staff, resulting in poor animal health and welfare.
Vets Beyond Borders is trying to fix this by deploying experienced volunteer vets and vet nurses into communities to work with local veterinary staff to improve the level of animal care.
VBB also holds education programs in schools and communities to increase awareness on the importance of being kind to animals, as well as how to correctly behave around them.
David Barr from Drive Tuesday caught up with VBB CEO, Maryanne Dalton to find out more.
