ANZAC Day brings out the patriotism in Australians’ who take the day as a time to reflect on the War, pay respects to those who fought in it and enjoy a leisurely day off.
There are some who do query the ethics of ANZAC Day, including Dr. Matthew Beard of The Ethics Centre. He posed the question, ‘can you celebrate ANZAC Day without glorifying war?’, a question that lit up social media and got a fiery response.
Holly of Friday Drive interview Dr. Beard last week, talking about his article that was published by The Ethics Centre, and asked him to explain his reasoning for asking that question.
