Year 10 Student Thrust into the Workforce – Eastside Radio

My name is Lynette and for my Year 10 work experience week, I’ll be working at Eastside Radio. I chose Eastside because the technical aspects of a radio station intrigued me, and I also wanted to incorporate my passion for music into my work experience.

Ever since I was young, music has been an important part of my life. I started taking piano lessons when I was five and I’ve been teaching myself guitar for a bit over a year now. I also have been taking IST (information, software and technology) at school and this has fueled my interest for the technological aspects of things. I’ve always been interested in music production and Eastside Radio seemed like the perfect blend of music and tech.

After my week at Eastside Radio, I hope to gain an understanding of the operations involved in running a radio station and also to develop a confidence for approaching future job opportunities. So far, it’s been a pleasant experience and I look forward to seeing what happens in the next few days.
