Amelia Navascues joins as Programming Manager at Eastside FM

2020 has marked a new decade and another swing of the roaring 20s which has also brought along a change of wind at Eastside FM with some internal changes at the station.

Following the departure of Programming Director Chelsea Deeley, who will continue to host the new music program ‘The New Thing’, radio and podcast producer/ presenter Amelia Navascues has joined Eastside Radio taking her place.

Navascues has a long-time commitment to the community radio sector, having produced “So Hot Right Now”, 2ser 107.3FM’s flagship Arts and Culture program and remains engaged in the Sydney arts and comedy scene. She says she is looking forward to bringing her knowledge and passion for cultural programming to Eastside:

“Despite what people might say, I think Sydney has such an eclectic and thriving creative community. A lot of the time, the problem is about getting access to the right information. I’m excited to find more ways to strengthen local participation in the arts through the unique voice Eastside FM offers.”

Having worked for the ABC, Mamamia and freelanced on a number of external audio projects, Navascues will be working alongside Managing Director Tony Smythe running the station and will work closely with the 80+ presenters and producers each week.

She will be at the station Monday’s and Tuesdays while continuing her work with external audio projects.

Welcome, Amelia!
