On the program today I welcome Australian film & television writer and director Cate Shortland.

We chat about her career – from her first paid job as Director on The Secret Life of Us, to Directing her award-winning films Somersault and Lore, through to to her latest role Directing the Marvel film The Black Widow. She talks about the importance of finding great collaborators, the importance of professional persistence and kindness and what it’s like working with Scarlet Johansson (spoiler alert: she’s as lovely as you’d imagine).
