Hit the Road, Jack!

Phillip James has been presenting on Eastside Radio 89.7FM for over ten years on programs including Jammin’ Wednesday, Saturday Night Live and a segment on Arts Wednesday.

He was on the Eastide Board of Directors for six years and served as chairperson for two years.

Aside from all of these notches in the belt, Phil has been a pillar of strength and support for the staff and volunteers here at Eastside. His vision was always to progress the station; maximise its profile, strengthen its quality of programming and to serve the local community as best it can. His enthusiasm was always infectious.

As a believer in adventure and ‘following your dreams’, Phil will now make his way overseas to explore the next phase of 2011. He has hinted at his return to the mic in the future… how could he stay a way for too long?

We wish him all the very best in health, happiness and life.
