Sydney World Pride final weekend events

Sydney World Pride March

It’s been several weeks of rainbows and glitter, arts and activism, and it’s drawing to the thrilling conclusion this weekend.

Gabriel Pinkstone, Chief Operating Officer

Gabriel Pinkstone, Sydney World Pride Chief Operating Officer, chats to Arts Wednesday about what events are coming up this  Saturday and Sunday. Gabriel’s illustrious career includes working with many major arts organisations  such as Opera Australia, Sydney Theatre Company and the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra.  She also spent 19 years at Cirque du Soleil based in Montreal where she met her wife.

Oxford Street will be closed from Taylor Square to Whitlam Square for a street party as part of the Pride Villages events. You’ll find street food stalls, stages for performances and of course frocks and glitter. When you’re wandering between events this is a great place to meet up with friends, or just to rest your dancing legs before the next party.

Sydney World Pride Bondi Beach Portray

Bondi Beach is the venue for an afternoon / evening dance party. 12,00 people are expected to party into the night with a stellar lineup. Headlining the show is pop sensation Nicole Scherzinger, and featuring an all-Australian DJ line-up including dameeeela, Jarred Baker, Jacqui Cunningham, DJ Charlie Villas and DJ Dan Murphy.

Sunday morning is a real highlight for many as 50,000 people march across Sydney Harbour Bridge from north to south for the Pride March.

Sydney World Pride Closing Concert

At this end of this walk is the closing concert in the Domain entitled Rainbow Republic. Expect 7 hours of performances including  Ava Max, Kim Petras, MUNA, Keiynan Lonsdale, G Flip, Peach PRC, Alter Boy, BVT, Vetta Borne and more. What a way to close the festival.
