Artists in the Laneway

‘Are you looking at me?’ This FREE Art Gallery – a showcase of art works selected by Barbara Flynn are set in 8 different laneways throughout Sydney City are open now until the 31st of January. Featuring art from 8 of Australia’s most contemporary artists this is a great way to spend a lazy Sunday morning – after your coffee of course!

We are one but we are many. Yes it is time for that one day of the year that makes us very proud to be Happy Little Vegemites. There is something happening at any time of the day – if you want a sleep in if you want to get up early if you want to have lunch them come down or even dinner! There is something for everyone!

8-8.30am: Woggan-ma-gule Morning Ceremony in Royal Botanic Gardens, Farm Cove.

9-10am: GIO Oz Day 10K. Starts on Alfred St, Circular Quay.

10am-5pm: Sample Sydney

10am-7pm: Hyde Park Main Stage – Kid’s Morning 10am-1.30pm

2pm-3pm: Lord Mayor’s Citizenship Ceremony

Afternoon Delights from 3pm-7pm

10am-5pm: The NRMA Motorfest at Macquarie, College and Bent Streets

10.30am-5pm Vintage Bus Service on George, Bridge, Pitt, Elizabeth, Eddy Ave.

11am-9pm: The Rocks Australia Festival of the Voice will be host to many performing acts including: Katie Noonan, The Captains, Hungry Kids of Hungary, Kasey Donavan and many more!

Darling Harbour Australia Day

FREE Entertainment for the whole family is jam packed into Darling Harbour! Head there for the:

Children’s Stage (Curtain Call Lawn) from 11.30am-4pm

ABC Kids Concert with Roary the Racing Car, Spot the Dog, The Koala Bros, The Wot Wots, Miffy and Postman Pat. After the concert things get a bit more serious for the adults with performances from Chinese magicians to French clowns!

Aussie Shorts at the Harbourside Amphitheatre 12noon – 4pm

For the very first time Darling Harbour will be host to a short film festival, Aussie Shorts. The shorties are all Australian and curated by Cinewest.

World Music and Dance at Cockle Bay South

From 7pm-9pm dancers, performers from all over the world will help you dance the night away!

Australia Day Spectacular in Cockle Bay

From 7pm-9pm

The absolute ONLY place to be this Australia  Day Night addresses from the NSW Premier, Governor. Boat parades, live concerts who could forget the breathtaking final of fireworks display – something Sydney never goes half heartedly on.

Kinetic Jazz Festival

A 4 day Jazz Festival featuring the sounds of: Mark Issacs, Paul McNamara, SNAP with Sandy Evans, Kevn Hunt, Oximetric, Bill Risby Trio. There will also be a piece of theatre accompanied with each performance. Dont miss this unique festival!
