Jazz in Continuum bands announced
Eastside Radio is proud to present the 2nd edition of Jazz In Continuum – a program initiative launched to expand the appreciation of jazz to a younger audience. The event will feature new secondary school and tertiary bands from Sydney and the Illawarra region.
This year, Jazz In Continuum takes place on Saturday April 2, 2011, at Paddington Uniting Church in parallel with celebrations for Youth Week, 1 to 10 April 2011
Judy Bailey leads the young sensational players of Jazz Connection and Mark Isaacs presents his well-loved trio project and The Jake Barden Quartet (Sydney Conservatorium) features internationally acclaimed drummer John Morrison.
An exciting mix of young trios, big bands and combos will take to this community stage…

Jazz in Continuum 2011 will be BROADCAST LIVE on 89.7FM.
The idea of involving young jazz musicians in secondary schools culminated in Eastside launching a full program of concerts, a recorded CD and a radio program for young listeners.
Every week young musicians take to the air to talk about their music, their musical influences and what’s driving their jazz creativity. Tune in to Jazz In Continuum on Saturdays, 5.30 – 6.30pm.
