Mace Francis Orchestra – Mace Francis Orchestra Presents Chinese Whispers IV

Out of Perth comes the Mace Francis Orchestra and their fourth installment of the conceptual Chinese Whispers project. Composers collaborate on one piece by each writing small segments and passing on their work to the next composer to add to it. Once the collaborative piece is finished it is then used as inspiration for the next member begin a new composition. A great fun idea, this is bold and exciting music.

The debut album from the smooth Sydney singer is a collection of his favorite songs from a variety of artists and genres that he has put his own twang to.  Be sure to catch him at one of his live gigs!

Independent Track Of The Week

Today’s independent track of the week was ‘Pepper Snake’ by The Cactus Channel. The Cactus Channel are a 10 piece funk band from Melbourne with an average age of 17 between them. Wow!

Backsliders – Starvation Box

Experienced Sydney blues group Backsliders have been in the game for 25 years. Their new album is a smoky straightup down ‘n’ dirty blues music and is available on Fuse music.
