ARTS WEDNESDAY 12 OCTOBER 2011

This week we start a new 6-part series with Adrian Newstead, Director of the Coo-ee Gallery, talking about Aboriginal art. It is a subject we all find fascinating and I do look forward to learning the story through Adrian’s very experienced eyes! The episode runs at about 10:40 am.

My special guest this week is Megan Jekinson, whose photographic exhibition opens Wednesday night at Stills Gallery in Paddington.  Megan is a widely exhibited artist whose images are held in prestigious institutions, in her native New Zealand, here in Australia and also overseas, including Centre Pompidou in Paris and the V and A in London. The exhibition is called … a tent pitched in the wilderness and comprises images based on pictures she took on a visit to Egypt. I know you will enjoy meeting her at 11:00 am.

Music this week draws its inspiration from Megan’s work and the work of Stephanie Valentin, whose exhibition unseasonal also opens at Stills Gallery. Expect landscapes, weather and seasons!

As always I look forward to your company!
