ARTS WEDNESDAY 19 OCTOBER 2011

Adrian Newstead continues with Part 2 of our new series on Aboriginal art at about 10:40 am.

My special guest this week is Professor Anthony Burke, head of the School of Architecture at UTS. However, Anthony is wearing 2 different hats for purposes of our conversation. He is a Festival Champion for this year’s Sydney Architecture Festival and organiser of one of the exhibitions – Open Agenda – which looks at the winners of the competition of the same name.

Open Agenda is an annual competition aimed at supporting a new generation of experimental architecture, open to young architects and focused on developing the possibilities of design research in architecture and the built environment.  More about the competition here: https://www.utsarchitecture.net/openagenda/

Anthony has also been appointed, along with  Gerard Reinmuth, head of the creative team for the Australian Pavilion at the 13th Venice International Architecture Biennale. There is a lot to talk about and I look forward to our conversation.
Music this week will deal with cities.
As usual, I look forward to your company!
