Clave Contra Clave – Australia’s first Latin band competition

Tune in to Cubanisimo on Thursday 9.30pm when host Martin Taylor interviews Felix Baloy and Sixto Llorente from the band El Indio. You could win a double pass to the finals on Saturday 5 November!

The finalists in Australia’s first national Live Latin band competition,  Clave  Contra Clave, have been decided.

Showcasing the best talent from each state, plus Latin Superstars from the Legends of Cuba and the Buena Vista Social Club, the Grand Finale will be heating up at the Horden Pavillion on 5 November 2011.

There’s also a trip to the Salsa Festival in Cuba up for grabs, plus many more prizes!

The most exceptionally talented live Latin bands from each state will compete for a place in the grand final and a chance to win up to $25,000.00 in cash prizes.

The competition invites the most elite and talented live Latin bands from around the country to compete for a place in the Grand Finale, in Sydney.

‘Clave Contra Clave’ offers $25,000.00 in cash prizes in addition to surprise giveaways. Bands have the opportunity to gain coast-to-coast exposure, play in the best music venues in the nation, and to perform in front of international musicians and judges. These include the ‘Legends of Cuba’- Felix Baloy from the Buena Vista Social Club and Afro-Cuban All-Stars, Sixto “El Indio” Llorente of Manolito y su Trabuco, Orquesta Aliamén, and Mamborama.
