a taste of honey january 5th 2012
A new year and new music…………despite the onset of the internet and the technology revolution there is no shortage of great music. Two albums that you will hear me playing tracks from are “I Feel You”- a collaboration of husband and wife team,Herb Alpert and Lani Hall(pic.right) and “A Foreign Sound” by Brazilian singer and composer Caetano Veloso(pic.left).Their choice of songs from both the pop and the standard song catalogues makes it a pleasure to sit and listen to coupled with the choice of musicians and arrangements that clearly have taken time to implement that it’s fair to say that this comes with having the luxury of very successful careers.A great song is always great …artistes can “screw it up” and that’s always up for discussion but the experience in these two artiste’s respective careers and their love for songs and their attention to detail is in my opinion worthy of a long listen and perhaps an addition to your favourites.
