All In The Family

There may not be scientific proof yet, but encountering the Hauptmann family is enough to convince anyone that musical talent must be genetic. James Hauptmann is the drummer for successful rock band Bluejuice, Zoe Hauptmann plays bass for quirky indie groups like King Curly and The Elana Stone Band, and Ben Hauptmann demonstrates his incredible talents on guitar with, well, seemingly everyone.
A jack of all trades, Ben also plays the Mandolin, Banjo and Chinese Lute along with the South American Tiple and Charango. His multitude of skills hasn’t yet driven him to become a one man string quartet (mainly because that would be physically impossible), but his particular and undeniable flair for guitar won him the 2010 Freedman Jazz Fellowship and led him to play alongside musicians like the Alchoholtiks, Katie Noonan & the Captains, Wanderlust, Lior and Bertie Blackman.

Now, Ben is releasing a solo album to make his own mark in the industry. And yes, you guessed right; it was produced with contributions from his talented siblings – he’d be crazy not to get them in on it!

Make sure you check out Ben Hauptmann’s album launch at The Sound Lounge on 17th March.
