Sounds Of Soul LP special

Because Sounds Of Soul is a vinyl only show airing mainly Afro American music from the 6ts and 7ts we are normally spinning predominately those 7″ 45s that were the main medium of the black music especially in the 6ts. That changed a bit in the 7ts when Soul and Funk caught up with the trend to the long-player that Rock had set a decade earlier and LPs became more important, often as album-length statements with hard-hitting social commentary. Last Fridays program was dedicated to 12″ records mainly 7ts stuff, interesting album versions of records played here on 45s before and LP only material.
