MUSIC YOU DON’T DANCE TO: after 139 broadcasts, GOODBYE and THANK YOU

Dear all,

after 139 shows, I’m going to have to call it a day, at least for the moment.  Going from fortnightly to weekly with my Friday Drive show, and with other things going on, I just don’t have the time anymore.

I have greatly enjoyed bringing you Music You Don’t Dance To, and I finish up with some sadness and regret at having to pull stumps, but time (and tide) wait for nobody.

Thanks to all my listeners for your support, especially those who called and emailed to let me know what you thought of the music I played; not just locally, but emails from as far away as Europe.

Thanks also to those artists who sent me their music and poetry, who contributed so much to the sound of the show, and it’s been a delight to give you the opportunity to showcase your new work; again, as well as locally, also from as far away as Canada, the UK and Germany.

I look forward to a time when I can return, but for the moment, thank you all again, and farwell.

Jon Shapiro, Presenter, Music You Don’t Dance To
