City Talk: Poverty Amid Plenty

Australia’s leading environmental, economic and social equity thinkers will discuss solutions for a more equitable and sustainable world at the City of Sydney’s first City Talk for 2012.

Join Paul Gilding, former Executive Director of Greenpeace International and a renowned climate change activist, as he leads a discussion on how the current model affects the social fabric of our communities and how we can transition to a new economic model which emphasises sustainability and social justice.

Paul will be joined by a panel of business, social justice and community innovators, including Sam Mclean, Deputy National Director at GetUp!; Ben Waters, Director of ecomagination at GE Australian and New Zealand; Rachel Botsman, author of the influential book What’s Mine is Yours: The Rise of Collaborative Consumption; and Ross Gittins, Economics Editor at The Sydney Morning Herald.

Come and hear our speaker and panellists – including the Lord Mayor of SydneyClover MooreMP – address these global problems, as well as new and creative ways we can work together to solve them.
