Social Media Wiz needed to amplify Eastside Radio’s message!

Social Media / Marketing Internship (3 months)

Are you a Social Media fiend? Do you know Facebook and Twitter like the back of your hand? Join Eastside Radio as an intern in the Marketing Department and develop your skills in Social Media.

Eastside Radio is the community station for the City of Sydney and Eastern Suburbs. Having been on air for nearly 30 years the station is an established cultural icon with a loyal following of listeners. We love jazz, world music, the blues, soul, funk, Hip Hop and electronic sounds.

Eastside Radio exists to give voice to the people and places in our community with 74 specialist music, arts and local news programs. We rely on the generosity of over 150 volunteers every week.

Over 30,000 people listen exclusively to Eastside Radio with 76,000 people tuning in over the course of one week. That figure grows to 160,000 listeners in a month and our website currently has 24,000 hits per month.

Our audience is loyal, creative, innovative music lovers who love to go out and experience new trends. They are passionate, freethinking and attend many music/arts/community events.

As the Social Media Intern, you will be working closely with the Sponsorship and Marketing Manager.

Responsibilities:

–       Management of Social Media Platforms: Facebook, Twitter etc

–       Developing and scheduling content, in-line with Eastside’s branding and marketing plan

–       Digital and social analytics

–       Keep up-to-date with any Social Media trends and developments

–       Ad-hoc marketing administration

Requirements:

Ideally you will have a sound understanding of Facebook, Twitter and other social media applications.

Excellent attention to detail.

Excellent writing and communication skills.

Understanding of Eastside’s programs and audiences and overall sound.

You will be committing to the internship for a period of 3 months, 12 hours per week. This is a great opportunity for anyone with a keen interest in Social Media and Community Radio.

Eastside Radio is based at Paddington Town Hall.
