ARTS WEDNESDAY 13 JUNE 2012

Marie-Christine ClementDidier Clement

I am really looking forward to being back at the console and presenting Arts Wednesday after a month away. While I was in France I managed to record a couple of interviews which I’ll feature this week and next. But meantime, there is unfinished business with Sydney By Design and the 2 Ed’s: Ed Lippmann and Ed Blakely. In the current series, we talked about infrastructure projects around the world and this week I’ll play the final episode about Tokyo, where virtually all infrastructure had to be rebuilt. I will podcast the series after the program, so you can hear the entire series at your leisure.

At 11:00 am, I’ll play interviews I recorded in the village of Romarintin-Lanthenay with Marie-Christine and Didier Clement. Together they own and run the Grand Hotel du Lion d”Or, where Didier presides over the Michelin-starred restaurant. Marie-Christine is an award winning author, whose subject matter is gastronomy and the art of cuisine. As you might imagine,  conversations with both of these charming people were very interesting. Didier even arrived to record our conversation in an Australian green and gold rugby t-shirt from the 2011 World Cup!

Music will be French – I guess there are no surprises there!
