May Gibbs has been an icon in Australian literature for years and her gumnut babies have become an integral part of Australian culture. Author Robert Holden reveals a complex portrait of the life of May Gibbs, whose beloved tales and illustrations have made her an almost fairytale figure in Australian culure.

How to: Make Jewellery
Learn how to design, layout, carve and finish a ring, pendant or brooch. Each project will be sent to a commercial caster to be reproduced in setrling silver. Learn the basics of metal smithing and wax carving skills including piercing, filing and polishing!

Thai-na Town, Little Oz
Vipoo’s project will centre around a series of Thai restaurants located on Campbell Street – interestingly known as “Thainatown” by local residents. A series of ‘pop-up’ studios at different restaurants along Campbell Street will be set up to invite local residents and workers to share their stories about coming to Australia. Space is limited however, so ensure that you book so you can experience the magic of Thai-na Town!
