Ed Lippmann returns today for another series of Sydney By Design at about 10:40 am and I know I join all of you in welcoming him back to Arts Wednesday.

My special guest this week is Irris Makler, Jerusalem-based foreign correspondent.  Some of you may remember her from her earlier book Our Woman in Kabul, relating her extraordinary trip to Afghanistan soon after 9/11. She has written a new book, this time turning her eye inward onto herself. The result is a memoir entitled Hope Street, Jerusalem, which actually refers to her the street where she lives. Briefly back in Sydney, she took the time to come to the studios and record an interview with me.

Music will be Middle Eastern, either from Middle Eastern musicians or about the Middle East by others.
