The Showdown, 5.11.12

The new log system at Eastside is something of a work in progress, and hence we are currently unable to provide you with a playlist for this week’s show. What we can reveal is that Julian featured the Tzadik compilation ‘Great Jewish Music: Marc Bolan’ in response to John’s featuring of Marc Bolan/T-Rex last week; we also heard from Esperanza Spalding, Gary Lucas, as well as brand new music from Matt Ottignon’s Ethio Jazz project, playing at Venue 505 on Wednesday.
