Eastside Radio Events and Fundraising Manager             

Contract Position: 1st March 2013 to 30th September 2013

Closing Date for Applications: 15th of February 2013

Remuneration: $50,000 per annum pro rata (4 Days/week)

Summary

2013 marks the 30th Anniversary of Eastside Radio and at the centre of the celebrations will be Global Rhythms, Eastside Radio’s World Music Festival. Held annually it showcases the best in local and international World Music artists. We are currently seeking an experienced person to fulfill the role of an Events and Fundraising Manager for the 2013 festival.

The successful candidate will have already worked in either or both an Events Management and Fundraising sector and is currently looking for something with more responsibility. The position is for approximately 32 hours a week.

Short listed applicants will be interviewed by the Station Manager and two Members of the Board.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a unique and innovative community station.

Duties:

  • Produce Global Rhythms World Music Festival
  • Generate revenue to meet financial targets for Global Rhythms including sourcing event sponsors
  • Raising profile to increase community exposure and listenership
  • Implement marketing and social media strategies
  • Ongoing management of website and social media
  • Event Management from concept thru to post-event
  • Coordination of live broadcast
  • Audience development for Global Rhythms and station overall
  • Post event/ project reporting
  • Managing financial budgets
  • Manage all performers at Global Rhythms
  • Administrative tasks as required

 

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • At least 2 years experience in Fundraising/Events Management or other relevant experience
  • World Music Aficionado
  • Ability to input into the creative process – e.g. performance selections, artwork concept, marketing activities
  • Experience in liaising with sponsors, suppliers, venues, musicians/DJs and publicists
  • Strong radio and music industry contacts relevant to Eastside’s audiences
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Good face to face presentation skills
  • Ability to manage a team of station volunteers
  • Numeric literacy
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent time management.
