Something Else – Brent Thorpe

Julian had a great chat this week with Sydney Writer/Performer/Comedian Brent Thorpe as his one-man show ‘Too Old For TV’ being remounted for this year’s Mardi Gras Festival.

Brent’s show tackles subject matter such as turning 50, the changing face of Sydney’s inner west, as well as an homage to some of the city’s great performers and comedians in the gay scene over the last 3 decades.

Brent had a wealth of knowledge and insight into Sydney’s recent history, it’s colourful characters and where it’s heading. No topic was left aside, from local councils, his performance technique, the history of Sydney’s Mardi Gras and his influences growing up.

Too Old For TV performs at the Lybrary Hotel in Chippendale from Feb 15. Tickets are avaialable from Moshtix.
