Attention singers and songwriters: brand new Bustalyric song contest could be your big break!

Be part of Sydney’s newest singing and songwriting competition!

Bustalyric is an innovative contest brought to life by independent record label Innersoul Entertainment. They provide a new stage for fresh young talent in both songwriting and  singing.

The singing prize is a single and video music deal with Innersoul Entertainment recorded at REC studios, which has played host to some of the industry’s superstars – David Bowie, Prince, and more recently The Script to mention but a few. The songwriter prize is a publishing deal.

Challenging conventional singing contests, Bustalyric uses the popularity of social media and a slick online platform to showcase Australian talent to a global audience. Through the Bustalyric website (HERE), audiences can vote for artists and view webisodes, interviews, live heats, and the grand final.

The event ensures equal accessibility to all artists by working at grassroots level to unearth new talent. Bustalyric will endeavour to reach out to community organisations that support disadvantaged youth and educational institutions offering music tuition. To qualify to perform at one of three Sydney heats, any singer or songwriter need only upload a recording of their performance or the song they have written to the website.

Submissions close on February 25th, when the qualifiers will be hosted on the website for voting. Voting determines qualification for the heats, and winners of the heats will advance to the grand final. The tournament will be judged by Joe Fidow (ex Kulcha) and K-Sera (Edge 96.1), with more judges to be announce soon. The competition runs from March to June 2013.
