Australia’s Sean Mackenzie Explores Music of Brazil
“Mackenzie is a master storyteller. Every piano solo is a deftly shaped little narrative that unfolds compellingly from one note to the next” (John Shand, Brasil album review, four stars, SMH)
Keyboardist and multi-instrumentalist Sean Mackenzie is back in Australia. Returning from being on tour with acclaimed gypsy guitarist Lulo Reinhardt (Django’s great-nephew) Sean is set to play an incredible show exploring the passionate music of Brazil.
Joining Sean are local musicians Christopher Soulos on bass (a founder of Australia’s premier latin/fusion bands of the 80’s, Esperito) and accordionist Marcello Maio (Samba Mundi) and from Brazil, on guitar and voice Tiago de Lucca (pictured below), on percussion Sandro Bueno (pictured below) and Daniel Baeder on drums.
Sean has put together an line up of musicians not to be missed! HAving himself travelled the world to work in Europe, Japan, the USA and Brazil itself and he is also joined by Daniel Baeder who is arguably one of Brazil’s most accomplished musicians, being internationally recognised as a drummer, musician, producer and arranger.
If you haven’t seen or heard Sean before or you love the music of Brazil, this is definitely the night to head out to Blue Beat!
