Archibald – Art After Hours

And the winner was…Del Kathryn Barton with her portrait of Hugo Weaving.   The winner stands among the other entries and finalists with portraits of Naomi Watts, Toni Collette and Anthony Mundine.  You can cast your vote as part of the ‘People’s Choice’ award.  Art After Hours on Wednesday gives you the chance to meet some of the artists and sitters who were part of this years entries.

 Bordello Blues

Isobel is a french prostitute who falls for her client.  This is a tale of unrequited love exploring the darker side of society and lust without fulfilment.

Bordello Blues includes music by Nina Simone, Edith Piaf and Marlene Dietrich and was a huge hit at the Edinburgh Festival.

What:  Bordello Blues- Cabaret

World Musician Day

This is a new, free music festival in Sydney Park.   The diverse line-up this year will include the Crooked Fiddle Band, Betty & Oswald and the Chango Salsa Band.  There is also a ‘jamming’ event that anyone else can enter on the day.  This will give you a chance to perform your music and be in the running to win the People’s Choice award and prize money.  There is also yoga, food and other stalls.  This afternoon will be fun for the whole family.

All About Women

Life Drawing 

Life drawingCome and sketch the night away in the lovely surrounds of the Arthouse Hotel whilst enjoying a nice quiet drink.  They will provide the model and you will need to bring paper, pencils and creative flair.  What a great way to unwind at the beginning of the week.

Trapped in Mykonos

 

This is a contemporary adaption of the Greek play Iphigenia at Aulis by Eurpides.      As the action unfolds Agamemnon is forced to make a choice that will echo throughout the ages.  This play asks questions about what is takes to be a hero and what it takes to satisfy greed.
