East Side Ride – Live Music

Dig (Directions In groove)

On Sunday the 21st of April 2013, community radio station Eastside Radio 89.7 FM will host their inaugural East Side Ride.

The East Side Ride is a free community event that is held in the picturesque Centennial Parklands. It aims to encourage activity in the areas of cycling, green living and live music. The event will provide a wide variety of stalls and workshops from a number of participants for the public to explore.

The Live Music

If there’s one area in which Eastside Radio truly excels; it’s live music. And at the East Side Ride we have the pleasure of setting the ambiance for the day with some unique sounds. We kick-off with our very own resident DJs, who will be tasked with rousing everyone bright and early Sunday morning.

Thirty years of spinning the best in jazz, funk, soul, disco, hip hop, French, Brazilian, Cuban, experimental, electronic, late night ambient, dub, reggae, fusion and gypsy has given us a well-deserved reputation for setting the groove like no-one else.

At midday, songstress Lily Dior will take over proceedings with her electric stage presence. Whether singing a tender jazz ballad or a soul classic, her warm lyrical voice brings heart and depth to every song she sings. Reggae ska outfit and ARIA award nominees King Tide will be on next, and then Directions In Groove will wrap things up with the final performance of the day. These jazz funk gurus will have you pedalling rhythmically all the way home.

So make your way over to main stage and be sure to get down to the Eastside sound!
