Art Battles at the Quay
On the 2nd of May the last 6 heats of The Art Battles took place to decide the participants in the Grand Final on this weekend the 4th and 5th of May at Sydney’s Circular Quay. The event is free for all to attend and watch.
With the amazing backdrop of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge, the finals will create a collaboration of sport, music and art, running in conjunction with Tiger Street Football. The lucky winner will then be flown to Vietnam to represent Australia.
The theme for the semi-finals is ‘Concrete Jungle’ held over three time slots – 11am, 1pm and 3pm (4 artists per heat) with all artists judged by a points system. The four artists with the highest scores will go through to the grand final on the 5th of May. The theme of the grand final is ‘Where You Need To Be’. As a bonus all artwork will be for sale after each heat on Saturday and after the grand final.
The judges on the panel will include Nacho Pop (dancer, choreographer and TV personality), Amy Cooper (renowned journalist- Sydney Morning Herald, Sun Herald) and representatives from sponsors Eckersley’s and Liquitex.
