Join me, Jane Raffan, for a program looking at the Redlands Konica Minolta Art Prize, an exhibition of contemporary art currently on view at the National Art School, Darlinghurst.
Uniquely, this prize aims to foster mentorship and pairs established artists chosen by a guest curator with emerging artists (nominated by the selected established artists) in exhibition, with a winner judged from each category.
My guest is Katie Dyer, Curator of the National School Gallery, who is also one of this year’s judges. We’ll be chatting about the National Art School and the Prize and a selection of works from amongst the 42 artists from Australia and New Zealand in this year’s exhibition.

And the music? In recognition of the Prize’s mission to foster mentorship between artists and, in particular, to honour this year’s emerging artist award winner, Cigdem Aydemir, we’ll be listening to Middle Eastern music and jazz influenced by this music. You can expect to hear works from a variety of stellar performers from Australian and around the world including Joseph Tawadros, Joe Henderson, Anuoar Brahem, Brad Shepik, Pachora and Rabih Abou-Khalil.
