ARTS WEDNESDAY 3 FEBRUARY 2010

Bliss Jensen will present Now Showing at 9:45 am as usual. At 10:10 am I will be introducing a new segment, New Antiques with well-known eastern suburbs fine art auctioneer and gallerist, Andrew Shapiro. Andrew will present a 6-part series to complement Investing in Art and Sydney By Design. I am looking forward to the series and I’m also sure we will all enjoy it.

My special guest this week at 10:30 am is Paris Nielson, Collections Manager of White Rabbit in Chippendale.  Currently its second exhibition – The Tao of Now – is showing, with a lot of challenging works to discuss with Paris.

Although White Rabbit exhibits contemporary Chinese art, after last week I didn’t think I really could play any more Chinese music! However, in my recent travels in Tasmania I was taken with the many beautiful summer gardens and the trees of the national parks, so that seemed like a good theme to explore musically. The challenge has been not to play music exclusively devoted to roses – I have discovered that it is a popular subject with song writers!
