This Saturday 1st June, Artbank will launch the first ‘Artbank Social Club’ open day. This is a free event and is open for all to attend the showroom with Australia’s largest collection of contemporary art.

Artbank is a support agency that fosters Australian artists through the collecting, commissioning, curating and leasing of art. The collection holds over 10,000 works and through the leasing arm is dispersed throughout Australia and internationally. Artbank gives Australian artists a platform to have their practice supported commercially as well as providing exposure to broad audiences.

During the one-day-only event the car park will be turned into a bright and colourful outdoor lounge with a bar, food truck and dance floor, with music by DJ Matt Vaughan. There will be a free shuttle bus to Artbank from Central Station via Flinders St, Darlinghurst looping every 45mins.

An opportunity to connect the collection with the broader public, the Artbank Social Club “will be an ongoing vehicle exploring fun and interesting event which involve people with a contemporary art in new ways. ” says Artbank Director Tony Stephens.

Head along to the Artbank first open day this Saturday from 1pm-6pm. For more info on visit Artbank on Facebook.
