Quentin Angus – Perception
Eastside Radio’s Album of the Week is Perception by Quentin Angus.
Australian guitarist; Quentin Angus (now New York based) is “building an international reputation with his brilliant compositional work that is both personal and adventurous” (APRA Art Music Awards 2012).
Quentin (Channel 9’s 2013 ‘Young Achiever of the Year’) has received much international and national recognition, including; three ‘International Downbeat Magazine Student Music Awards’ in the categories of ‘Jazz Soloist’ (2012), and ‘Jazz Composition’ (2011/ 2012), two consecutive ‘ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Awards’ (2012/2013), was one of 20 musicians from around the globe selected for both the 2011 and 2013 ‘Betty Carter Jazz Ahead Residency’ . Angus is also the inaugural winner of the ‘Award for Excellence in Jazz’ at the ‘2012 APRA Art Music Awards’.
He returns from NY to release the album ‘Perceptions’ and head on a national tour. All songs were composed by Quentin Angus except for two, one of which is pianist Matthew Sheens while the other the incomparable Miles Davis.
