Art After Hours

AAH_buildingColoursThis week’s Art After Hours is all about performance. The space between us, explores the relation between video and performance art. Kate Mitchell (artist) will speak inside the exhibition, Bec Dean (Performance Space) will unravel the concept of performance art and Christian Thompson will present his work titled Tree of Knowledge in the Gallery’s entrance court. There will also be a talk by artist Bill Henson

Sydney Fair

The Sydney Fair brings together a unique and rare collection of furniture, art, posters, sculpture, jewellery and couture.  It will cover a range of eras;  Art Deco, Art Modern, 20th Century and Retro.

Spotlight Prowl

Centennial Parklands is home to a variety of nocturnal creatures, from brushtail possums, microbats and tawny frogmoughs to one of Sydney’s largest colonies of grey headed flying fox.  Join the experienced Rangers for a  spotlight walk to see how the Park transforms when the sun goes down.   To make a booking phone  (02) 9339 6699.

Breathing Monster

From one of Europe’s leading choreographers Myriam Gourfink and acclaimed Polish-French composer Kasper Toeplitz comes Breathing Monster, a synthesis of hypnotic sound and uncanny physical movement.

A woman gently glides through a long, narrow and invisible maze creating a series of micro-movements in extreme slow motion. As her body propels forward with the stillness of time itself, it gathers incredible momentum, and her gestures become a gravity-defying feat.

Head On Photo Exhibition

Head On Photo Festival is Australia’s largest photo festival.  Head On has a wide range of photography across all genres from photojournalism and reportage through to commercial and fine-art. The Arthouse Hotel has held Monday night Life Drawing classes for over 10 years. Come and try to master the art of Life Drawing whilst unwinding on their comfy sofas in a relaxed atmosphere.

Circuit
