MCA on the Rocks
MCA on The Rocks is a new series of conversations offering a fresh way to explore art and ideas. This week Journalist and Presenter Joe Hildebrand will be contemplating the work of Photographer Jeff Wall and asking leading magician Adam Mada, Nobel Laureate astronomer Brian Schmidt and Professor Ron McCallum (the first ever totally blind person to obtain a full professorship); What does it mean to be invisible?

Our regular exchange events are a treasure trove of fabulous frocks, nice knits, slick suits and a colourful array of accessories. Ryoji Ikeda – Test Pattern No. 5
Internationally renowned for creating spectacular sound and visual environments, Ikeda’s large-scale contemporary installation test pattern [No 5] is an immersive audio-visual installation inspired by computer programming data which converts information into barcode and binary patterns. Comprising five visual projectors that will illuminate a floor screen measuring over 30 metres long and 10 metres wide, test pattern [No 5] will submerge visitors in an extreme illustration of projected and synchronized data and sound.

Jazz and Latin Open Mic Night
Join the House band and the locals at the Jazz and Open Mic Night at World Bar each Monday night. You can bring your own sheet music or instruments and get up to play or sit back and enjoy the atmosphere and tunes.

Circuit
The Oligarchs, a new Sydney-based theatre collective founded by Grace De Morgan and Josh Forward, brings together talented, young theatre-makers for Circuit. This production follows six characters in a gym through six intersecting monologues by six playwrights. This darkly funny play scratches below the sweaty surface of gym-goers and the modern day gym culture to explore what we’re working out while we work out.
