City of Shadows Exhibition

Focusing on the victims and perpetrators of crime, the original City of Shadows introduced the world to the Museum’s extraordinary and compelling collection of police forensic photography dating from 1912-1960. New research has solved many of the mysteries surrounding the people and places in these compelling photographs, and the stories that lurk behind the images can now be revealed.

Spyglass Gypsies

As the nation gears up for Australia’s upcoming federal election, Sydney Independent Theatre Company (SITCO) presents the world premiere of the razor-sharp Australian political satire, Friday by Daniela Giorgi, is a tale of democracy in the land of the long weekend.

It features a large ensemble cast including the renowned Gertraud Ingeborg, David Ritchie, Adrian Barnes and Peter Hayes.

Booking in for Sydney Fringe

The Sydney Fringe is an alternative arts and culture festival in the inner west of Sydney. Sydney Fringe 2013 will run from September 6 to September 29.

The Fringe is an initiative of the Newtown Entertainment Precinct Association. It is the largest alternative visual and performing arts event in NSW. It encompasses genres such as stand-up comedy, music, theater, cabaret, visual arts and burlesque. It is described as “a time for risk, discovery and adventure, a three week celebration of the strange and the beautiful.”

The Sydney Fringe typically operates in a festival precinct encompassing a number of venues in the Newtown/Marakville/Enmore area, with a few other venues in the wider Sydney area, including Leichhardt, Parramatta, Oxford Street and the City.
