Sounds Of Soul chronicles and playlists (9 & 16.8.2013): The recipe

SOS flyerIt’s always a good feeling to come back from a longer break and to be in the chair at Sounds Of Soul again, especially when the letterbox had filled up with new records during my absence. This time I could find among other things a nice shiny copy of a 7” on the Pure-Black-Soul label with the underrated ‘Too Much Luvin’ At Home’ by Larry Hobbs, the equally overlooked 70s gem “Time Keeps Ticking By” by Robert Taylor on LuTall, “You Made My Life So Bright” by one of my all time favorite artists Bill Brandon on Prelude and Leonard (Lil’ Man) Kaigler with “Got Me Believing In You (Dreamin’ Bout You)” on Sunburst sounding very much like a young Michael Jackson. Mixed up with some long neglected classics and spiced up with some dance tunes these new additions make up for the ideal recipe for a Sounds Of Soul radio show, as you can see in the playlist below:
