The Corporate Bash – Boxing for Charity

The Corporate Bash – Boxing for Charity will be on next Friday at the Paddington RSL. It has been organised by lifetime Woolloomooloo resident and founder of Boxfit Sydney, Michael Isgro. Michael is also a former Australian Amateur and Golden Gloves Heavyweight Boxing champion.

This next Corporate Bash will be the seventh charity boxing event run by Boxfit in the past two years, Michael has found a great way of using boxing as a conduit to raise awareness and funds for the work of HopeStreet, in his local community of Woolloomooloo. In two-minute boxing bouts, enthusiastic amateurs ranging from bricklayers to barristers, male and female, as young as 14 to those in their 50s, give it their all. The fight nights also provide opportunity for some of the talented musicians who have been homeless residents of Woolloomooloo to entertain the audience.

The Corporate Bash is a fantastic example of someone using their skills and talent to make a difference in their local community. It’s a great ‘grass-roots’ approach which also empowers the people it is helping.

HopeStreet is a Woolloomooloo-based non-profit organisation that provides support to homeless and other vulnerable people.

When: Friday 6 September, doors open 6:30pm for 7:00pm start
Where: Paddington RSL, 220-232 Oxford St, Paddington
Cost: General admission $40; Corporate tables of 10 $1,500 (includes three course dinner and drinks)
