Sydneysiders will be invited to air their laundry in public across the city this spring for Art & About Sydney 2013.
This year’s festival, which has the theme “private lives… public places”, will also feature gigantic neon snails, an illuminated maze of mirrors and a playful tribute to the humble pedestrian icon.
From the 20th September to the 20th October, an extraordinary line-up of international and Australian artists will transform Sydney’s streets, squares, parks and other unusual spaces with projects that encourage art lovers to go public with their secrets.

Metro Screen

From 29 April 2013, pool owners are required to register their backyard swimming pools in an online register to be provided by the NSW State Government. Visit the register website at and follow the easy registration steps. The website also has safety checklists for all different property and pool types that you can conduct yourself. Also depending on your property type or if you are about to sell or lease a property you may need to have a compulsory inspection by a council officer
Carriage Works

From the complex histories of Australia and Timor-Leste emerges a story of a man who can be killed, but will not die. Created over two months in an abandoned colonial hotel on a remote island off the coast of Dili, this bold new work explores morality, fragility and chaos.
Doku Rai presents an East Timorese immortal caught between the weight of the past and an unknown future. Critically acclaimed Black Lung Theatre and Whaling Firm team up with rock gods Galaxy and Liurai Fo’er to create a new theatrical language that is part rock concert and part black mass.

Taking inspiration from the roaring 20’s speakeasies and juke joints, the Gin Mill Social is a lively and lavish dinner-party where your friends and family come together. Antenna Documentary Festival
What: Antenna Documentary Festival

Antenna 2013 will showcase over 40 feature local and international documentaries, three film competitions with cash prizes, Doc Talk sessions and international guests.
They have scoured the world to bring the very best documentaries over the last year, with over 50 sessions made up of 37 feature documentaries, 10 shorts and 7 DocTalk sessions. Antenna’s DocTalk, in partnership with Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) shall present a series of talks, pitching session and master-classes with local and international guests.
