Today is the anniversary of George Gershwin’s birthday(pic.left)-always remembered,forever missed,greatly loved and continually reimagined by the likes of Boz Scaggs,Harry Connick Jnr,The Puppini Sisters,Bobby Darin,Count Basie ,Diana Krall to name just a few-had he lived a longer life,one can only ponder what additional musical legacy he (and Ira) would have left us given the fact that he was already so prolific in his short 25 years of creating music that has transcended a period of some 90 years.In addition today is also the birthday of Gal Costal(pic.right),singer,composer,film star and part of Brazilian musical royalty-one of her sisters married Gilberto Gil and the other Caetano Veloso who sings his composition ‘Baby’ with her today.Amazing talent,amazing songs and MUSIC FOR LIFE with HEART and SOUL– “I Got Rhythm” just for you every week on ATOH !!!
