ARTS WEDNESDAY

Arts Wednesday 9 October 2013

I am really looking forward to returning to Arts Wednesday – I have missed you all!

First guest this morning is curator Alexie Glass-Kantor, curator of a new exhibition at the Anna Schwartz gallery at Carriageworks with the somewhat enigmatic title of You promised me, and you said a lie to me. Enigmatic title for an enigmatic exhibition, but interesting and absorbing nonetheless!

I have brought back some interviews from my travels and will play them for you over the next couple of shows. We joined a tour of art and music, starting in Amsterdam and finishing in Zurich. My first interview is with one of our art specialists, Alan Dodge, former Director of the Art Gallery of Western Australia and he spoke to me about his area of special interest, Russian moderns. Then I’ll play a conversation with another of our art specialists, Christopher Menz, former Director of the Art Gallery of South Autralia and he talked about the differences in curatorial practice between Europe and Australia.

Music this week follows our journey, with music from the Netherlands, from Germany and from Switzerland.

As always, I look forward to your company!

Alan Dodge
