A Taste Of Honey October 17 2013
Life’s like that…I was asked if I would like to do an interview with Jan Preston(pic.right)and jumped at the chance-Jan and I go back to 1976-7 in New Zealand when she was keyboardist of Coup d’Etat,an indie pop band and we had a big hit with ‘Dr,I Like Your Medicine’.Many years and different countries later i have the pleasure of interviewing her about her very successful career, her songwriting and performing and her love of all things ‘Boogie Woogie’ and those classic artistes that gave the world the genre.People like Winfred Atwell,Fats Waller,Fat Domino,Jerry Lee Lewis,Albert Ammons,Meade’Lux’Lewis and the newer generation of great piano playing songwriters such as Billy Joel,Elton John,Hugh Laurie and Dr.John.Always a pleasure to have talented guests and even more fun having worked with them!!!I will be back in three weeks time so stay with Virginia Lowe and Thomas Adams who have very kindly agreed to fillin for me-enjoy the music as always-see you with more Tastes Of Honey on 14th November.
