Sounds Of Soul chronicles and playlist (08.11.2013): Old friends

BarebackAfter catching up with old friends and spinning records at the National Northern Soul weekender in Perth I was back in time to kick off last Friday’s Sounds Of Soul radio show with an old friend of a record in Oscar Perry’s magnificent He Sent Me You. By no means is this a 45 that will attract attention of those collectors out there that solely look out for rarity and price because this is still relatively cheap and has this timeless quality that make true classics. And in the end it’s only the quality that matters and not the price tags, so it was a special pleasure to put together a show of long time favorites and newer acquisitions, both of the rare and not so rare kind as you can see in the little list below:
